Legislation
- Algeria is one of the Mediterranean countries with a rather long tradition of competition law and enforcement : as a general introduction to competition law and policy in Algeria, see the 2011_08_28_Algeria_Summary, by Rainer Bierwagen.
- The competition legislation can be found at the Algerian Commerce Ministry website, which provides among other texts one of the most important text regarding competition law: the 19 July 2003 ordonnance n°03.03
Implementation
- The legislation is implemented at administrative level by the Ministry of Commerce and the independent Conseil de la Concurrence. However, the Conseil cannot act given that its members have no confirmed mandate.
